Dr. Manning is a licensed marital & family therapist who has been engaged in therapeutic work
since 1998. She has practiced in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, community agencies and private
practice.
Additionally, Dr. Manning has conducted research for academic and public policy purposes.
In 2005, she was selected to be a Social Science Fellow for The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. As a result
of her work there, she was invited to testify before a Senate sub-committee regarding the harms of Internet pornography.
She has written numerous book chapters and academic journal articles, and is regularly invited
to participate in radio talk shows and television programs. In 2008, Shadow Mountain Press published her first book entitled
What's the Big Deal about Pornography?:
A Guide for the Internet Generation, and in 2010, Deseret Book published her first talk CD entitled, Let's Talk about the Elephant in the Room: How LDS Women can Protect Families from Pornography.
Dr. Manning actively volunteers for state and federal organizations that are striving to uphold
standards of decency in our communities.
